Why did you choose MIU and Japan?

My primary reason for studying in Japan was because of my father’s experience working with Japanese. He considered them kind and trustful and after contemplating for a year, I decided to study in Japan. The other reason is Japan’s unique history, that it had been closed to Westerners for hundreds of years. While the ratio of foreign workers continues to grow, the vast bulk of the working force is still Japanese. It’s an excellent opportunity for foreigners to learn about the Japanese work ethics and education which are highly reputed across the world.

Miyazaki International College was a very unique choice for me. With a small number of foreign students, I found it attractive because I can learn the Japanese culture or education more. Besides, I always wanted to study politics, economics, and English Language. Therefore, it was a great opportunity for me because all of these courses, I was able to take at MIU.

How do you like the learning style of MIU?

I like that the MIU professors make students to think critically about certain issues. I also like that in every class you can express your own ideas and opinions, and nobody will judge you.

As I am currently a 4th year student and I am working on my Senior Thesis, I can tell you that every adviser is taking care of his/her students well and helps students to write up a great thesis.

Why did you decide to go to graduate school?

The reason why I decided to pursue my studies further is because I want to work in a big International Organization. I have not decided yet which country and which organization, but the graduate school gives an opportunity to know about International Organizations better and to take part in volunteer works in these organizations.

What is your future goal?

It is hard to determine the future goal in a clear way. Especially in the current situation with the pandemic. However, I always wanted to work in the sphere of helping people. Working on my Senior Thesis now, I feel that I want to be a project manager in the UN to work against women discrimination, domestic violence and child abuse.
