Today, October 12, 2023 (Thursday), is the anniversary of the founding of Miyazaki Gakuen Educational Corporation. To commemorate the 84th anniversary of the foundation, a lecture was given to first-year students of both faculties, and distributed on-demand to other students.

The lecturer was Hisami Sato, President of the Miyazaki Prefectural Art Theater Foundation and Director of the Medikit Prefectural Culture Center.
His lecture was titled “Memorable words and My Youth.”

After working as a director and producer at NHK, He served as the head of NHK’s Miyazaki Broadcasting Station for four years from 1999, and is also the person who conceived and produced “Close-Up Today,” a TV program that is still popular today.

As he searched for himself at turning points in his life during middle school, high school, and college, He was inspired by the words of his teachers and friends, and in his second year of college, he actually experienced the words of John XXIII at the Vatican Council in Rome, which led him to set his sights on his future goals.
He joined NHK at the recommendation of novelist Hisashi Inoue, who was also a senior in his high school dormitory. The words spun in many layers influenced his life.

He said, “I was able to come across good words by constantly putting out my antenna while searching for myself”. In addition to this, he gave hints to the students: “I think it will be a guide for the future to go out on your own and think about what interests you and what you are interested in by seeing it with your own ears and eyes”.

In closing, the student representative said, “I will do my best to become an elementary school teacher, which is my dream, while keeping my antenna up and gathering information”.

From the expressions on the students’ faces, it was clear that today’s lecture had left a lasting impression on each and every one of them.

Mr. Sato, thank you very much for your valuable lecture today.
