テレビ市場向けHDMI、MDDI高速デジタル伝送技術に関する研究 Research on HDMI and MDDI high-speed digital transmission technologies for the TV market
2000年以降、民生機器市場にはデジタル化を進めている中、テレビ、パソコン、携帯電話の高速デジタル通信方式の需要が高まった。特に従来のアナログ映像、音声をデジタル化された高画質・音質に適した「低振幅差動シリアル伝送技術」の研究、開発、試作、商品化を行った。その中、民生テレビ向けHDMI（暗号HDCPを含む）の送信受信LSIの開発は日本メーカー初のものでした。2005年に、ローム株式会社社長賞（金賞）を受賞した。そして、米国Intel社やQualcomm社と技術提携し、携帯電話ディスプレー用MDDIトップセットも研究、開発を行った。多数海外、国内の特許出願、登録を行いました。
Since 2000, as the consumer electronics market has been digitized, the demand for high-speed digital communication methods for televisions, personal computers, and mobile phones has increased. In particular, we have researched, developed, prototyped, and commercialized “low amplitude differential serial transmission technology” that is suitable for digitizing conventional analog video and audio to achieve high image quality and sound quality. Among these, we were the first Japanese manufacturer to develop a transmission and reception LSI for HDMI (including HDCP encryption) for consumer televisions. In 2005, we received the ROHM Co., Ltd. President’s Award (Gold Award). We also collaborated with Intel and Qualcomm in the United States to research and develop MDDI top sets for mobile phone displays. We have applied for and registered many patents both overseas and domestically.
